Stereotyping

Stereotyping, in human interaction terms, is the habit of making quick judgements about other people based on superficial evidence: clothes, last name, cultural origins, etc. These judgements, usually unfair, are based on cultural expectations and hearsay. For instance, meeting a person with a specifically ethnic last name and then making assumptions about their education, livelihood, etc.
