Social Support

Social Support is the feeling or experience of having others who love and care for you, who you can turn to for help in times of need. Support may come in the form of financial or material assistance or simply a friend who listens or gives advice. Research has shown that social support is an important coping mechanism during stress, and it also promotes health. People with adequate social support are less likely to get sick than those who are socially isolated.
