SEAT OF MIND

The given location or organ within the body that functions as the physical location of the mind (in Cartesian dualism, the place within the body wherein body and mind communicate; see: conarium). In present thought, the brain is the seat of the mind; previously, some other internal organs were suggested; for example, the heart. A number of hypotheses advise that the mind (or the spirit) is diffused all through the entire body. .

SEAT OF MIND: “The seat of mind has been posited to be in many places, including the heart.”
