REGRESSIVE ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY

No longer practiced, an electroconvulsive therapy which was performed multiple times per day on schizophrenic subjects after other treatments were deemed to have failed and the subject was not expected to recover. Subjects suffered regression to the point where they succumbed to incontinence or had to be spoon fed, or were out of touch with reality to an extreme extent.
