RAPID CYCLING

Rapid cycling describes mood disturbances that fluctuate over a short time span. The cycling most commonly occurs between manic and depressive episodes. The condition is described as going through these mood swings four or more times in a twelve-month period. The episodes must be seperated by at least 2 months of symptom free period.
