Psychodynamics

Psychodynamics refers to the interaction of conscious and unconscious processes and how these processes affect our personality, behavior, and feelings. For example, how are we influenced by our childhood experiences, and how do our inner conflicts and urges motivate us How might we handle the competing desires of wanting to lose weight with really wanting to eat a donut

This approach to psychology originated with Sigmund Freud, who analyzed the mind in terms of physical drives, emotional needs, and other hidden forces.
