PRIMARY TASTE

Primary taste is the idea that the sense of taste is actually composed of a range of tastes such as sweet, bitter, salty or sour. In theory, the primary tastes can number as few as 2 and as many as 11. The evidence for the existence of primary taste is not definitive.
