A Peer Group is a social group made of members around the same age who tend to have a similar background and social status. Peer groups may also be built around shared interests and activities. An individual can belong to multiple peer groups. For example, you may have a group of friends from school as well another group from church plus friends and acquaintances made through hobbies or sports. Peer groups exert a lot of influence over our behaviors, attitudes, and personal development.
