PARADOX

noun. a shocking or self-contradictory statement which might still contain truth. With regard to philosophy, paradoxes are classically categorized as semantic or logical. A logical type takes place whenever seemingly legitimate arguments lead to a conclusion which seems contradictory or irrational.

PARADOX: “All of the students seemed to represent a total paradox that day, until the teacher realized it was April Fools Day.”
