PAPEZ CIRCUIT

initially explained by American neuroanatomist James W. Papez, a circular composition of nerve centers and fibers in the brain which is correlated with feelings and memory, it comprises the fornix, hippocampus, mammillary body, cingulate thalamus, Para hippocampal gyrus, and anterior gyrus. Injury to any element of this system results in amnesia. Commonly referred to as Papez circle.
