PACINIAN CORPUSCLE

a form of cutaneous receptor organ which is sensitive to vibration and contact. It contains a nerve-fiber ending encompassed by concentric layers of connective tissue. Pacinian corpuscles are located in the fingers, the tendons, the hairy skin, and the abdominal membrane. Commonly referred to as Pacinian body.
