Opiod Antagonists

Opioid antagonists block opioid receptors. They prevent the body from responding to endorphins and opioids. A couple of common opioids antagonists are naloxone and naltrexone.

For instance, naloxone is injected to a patient to treat opioids or narcotic overdose. It is used to reverse the overdose symptoms which include slowed breathing and heartbeat, and extreme drowsiness.
