NONSTRIATE VISUAL CORTEX

the several areas of cortex which encompass the striate cortex and engage in the processing of visual stimulants beyond the basic examination of features which takes place in striate cortex. This comprises parietal areas correlated with visuospatial acts, temporal areas imperative for item recognition, and cortical areas which assist with eye movements. It is hence partly more involved than prestriate cortex.
