Non-Concealed Observation

Non-concealed observation is a study method in which the observer is not concealed from the test subjects. This not a common method of observation in research because normally the known presence of an observer will affect the behavior of the subjects (which is known as the observer effect). This study method is used in situations where the effect on the subjects by the observer would be negligible. One situation where this is used is in teacher observations in schools where an administrator is observing a teacher in their classroom.
