Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Neurodevelopmental disorders are problems or impairments that relate to the growth and development of the central nervous system (CNS) and brain. It can also be used as a term to refer to disorders of brain function that affect emotions.

These types of disorders can include genetic disorders such as Down’s syndrome, Fragile-x syndrome. Neurodevelopmental disoders can also be acquired disorders such as traumatic brain injuries (TBI), fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), and a number of other conditions that are related to the CNS.
