MUSCLE RELAXANTS

are a group of drugs which are used in the management of spasms in skeletal muscle which typically result from injury, stroke or cerebral palsy. These drugs normally act on the central nervous system and the associated nerve fibres to reduce the muscle tone and the level of spontaneous activity. Such examples include- benzodiazepines, baclofen, dantrolene.
