is a personality inventory which was first devised in 1940 and is now one of the most popular self-reporting tools for examining an individuals personality. There has been a broad range of applications of the inventory in situations such as- mental health, medical, substance abuse, forensic and simply being used to personally screen someone. The first version consisted of 550 true or false items which were grouped into nine separate scales, whereas the version which is currently in use which was published in 1989, has 567 true or false questions which look at symptoms and attitudes as well.
