A learned response is simply a person or an animal having a reaction, or making a response to an action or a situation. For instance, a trained dog will sit quietly when given the “sit” command and maintain that position until given a release command. Or, in a college class, the students will take their seats and become quiet once a professor enters the room to start the class.
