Julian Rotter

Julian Rotter (1916-2014) was as American psychologist who, while a faculty member at Ohio State University and the University of Connecticut, developed several influential theories including social learning theory and locus of control. Moving away from psychoanalytical thought and behaviorism, Rotter’s focus was on the social aspects of behavior and learning. In 1954, his seminal work Social Work and Clinical Psychology was published.
