Interpretive validity is a measure of the meaning that is attributed to a participant’s behavior and the perspective of the individual whose behaviors are being measured. All tests are designed to test knowledge, but it is important to make sure that a test accurately measures what it is intended to measure. Likewise, there is also a dimension of whether the participant also feels that the test meets the objectives. The interpretive validity is measured by how closely these two perspectives match one another.
