Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) refers to disorders which are characterized by digestive tract inflammation.

Two of the common types are ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. The symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pain, blood in stool, reduced appetite, abdominal cramps, fever, and weight loss. The exact cause is not known but the risk factors include family history, smoking, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
