COUNTERPHOBIC CHARACTER

a character that enjoys pursuing threatening or hazardous acts which others would typically deem to be worrisome or those which elicit fear. With regard to psychoanalytic theory, this is described as a frenzied protective mechanism that attains fulfillment from the feeling of overcoming such fear and worry.
