CATEGORY MIDPOINT

in statistics, refers to a point halfway between the upper limit and the lower limit of a class or, in this case, a category. When the traits observed are variable, setting the midpoint guarantees that a particular member falls within the specified limits. See class midpoint.

CATEGORY MIDPOINT: “Category midpoint sets the upper and lower limits of the traits (or commonalities) which should be present in the members of a category.”
