Caprylic acid, sometimes referred to as octanoic acid, is a supplement (usually in capsule form) touted to treat yeast concerns such as candidiasis. This saturated fatty acid is known to have properties which fight fungi, bacteria, and viruses. It is naturally present in coconut oil and dairy products. Several studies have found out that caprylic acid can decrease cholesterol levels, prevent bacterial infections, and may help treat Crohn’s Disease.
