CALIFORNIA PSYCHOLOGICAL INVENTORY (CPI)

n. An inventory of items designed to test the personality characterstics of adolescents and adults on four measurement classes. Consisting of 434 true-or-false statements, this self-report results in scores which fall under 20 different scales. Also called California Psychological Inventory Test. Devised by U.S. psychologist Harrison Gough and first published in 1957.
