C FIBER

n. unmyelinated nerve fibers located in the somatic sensory system. As afferent fibers, they conduct impulses from the periphery of the body to the central nervous system. They are, however, slower in adapting and conducting information.

C FIBER: “Relatively-slower as C fibers are, they already conduct nerve impulses at a velocity of 0.7-2.3 meters per second.”
