BROMOCRIPTINE

n. an alkaloid prescribed in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. (Trade name: Parlodel) It acts as a dopamine-receptor agonist, thus, inhibiting the turnover of dopamine. It also inhibits the growth of tumors in the pituitary gland by regulating the pituitary hormone, prolactin.
