BRIEF PSYCHIATRIC RATING SCALE (BPRS)

n. a widely-used rating scale for psychotic, schizophrenic, and other psychiatric conditions. Scoring 24 factors in all, each symptom is rated on a scale of 1 (not present) to 7 (severe). First introduced in 1962 by U.S. clinicians John Overall and Donald Gorman.
