BLIX’S TEMPERATURE EXPERIMENT

n. an experiment conducted to localize those areas on the skin which are sensitive to thermal stimuli. There are specific spots on the skin’s surface that are more responsive to sensations of heat or cold, and these are induced by temperature. First published by Swedish physiologist Magnus Blix in 1881-82.

BLIX’S TEMPERATURE EXPERIMENT: “From Blix’s Temperature Experiment, it was gathered that increasing the temperature would stimulate a warmth response in specific locations on the skin.”
