BEHAVIORAL CONTAGION

n. a tendency for the behavior of one or more people to be copied by others rapidly and compulsively. With little analysis or forethought, more people respond to this stimulus and quickly adopt it in succession. More of a powerful social influence, it usually explains how moods and behaviors can easily be adopted by crowds.

BEHAVIORAL CONTAGION: “A perfect example of behavioral contagion is when celebrity styles and fashion trends quickly become viral on social media.”
