BASILAR ARTERY

n. in anatomy, one of the arteries which supply the brain with oxygenated blood. At the junction where the two vertebral arteries unite, the vertebrobasilar system ascends to the brainstem and the lower part of the cerebrum.

BASILAR ARTERY: “The basilar artery originates at the junction of the left and right vertebral arteries.”
