AUDITORY PATHWAYS

the auditory-specific neural structures that convey auditory information from the cochlear hair cells to the auditory cortex (the ascending pathway) They also carry information from the cortex to the cochlea (the descending, or centrifugal, pathway). The major structures in the auditory pathways are the auditory nerve, cochlear nucleus, and the auditory cortex.

AUDITORY PATHWAYS: “Auditory pathways help transmit auditory information between the ear and the auditory cortex.”
