a form of tactile agnosia characterized by a loss or marked impairment in the ability to identify objects or geometric forms by touch alone. Like other agnosias, this condition is frequently associated with a lesion in the parietal lobe of the brain. This injury could be caused by disease or trauma. Also known as astereognosia- tactile agnosia- tactile amnesia.
