ASSOCIATION PSYCHOLOGY

a type of psychology that is based on the premise that learning and knowledge are completely derived from the formation of associations between ideas. Perception, learning, remembering, and thinking all have been shown to use these acquired associations. Association psychology mostly originated as a result of British empiricist and associationist philosophy (see associationism).

ASSOCIATION PSYCHOLOGY: “Association psychology suggests that most mental processes are formed via the association of connected ideas.”
