The term Aristotelian is often used to distinguish this tradition of formal logic from modern symbolic logic. 2. Also refers to a general relating to Aristotle, for example, his works, or his thought. In this more general sense, this approach places a higher value on empirical knowledge, which is antithetical to the approach of Platonic idealism or Neo-Platonism.
