ANTICIPATORY ATTITUDE CHANGE

an attitude change promoted by the expectation that a persuasive message will be delivered. Attitude polarization (feeling more strongly) may occur if the message creates an emotional valence, but attitudes remain moderate if the message is of little importance to the receiver.
