ANOSOGNOSIA

n. the failure to acknowledge (or the complete denial of) a disorder or defect – for example, visual, speech, or hearing deficits. The denial may occur as a result of psychological factors or brain injury – particularly to the right hemisphere of the brain. See also Anton’s syndrome- anosphresia- anosmia.
