ANNIHILATION

n. In psychoanalytic theory, this term refers to the complete destruction of the self. In object relations theory, this term is used to refer to a fear of self-destruction, often termed annihilation anxiety. Later, Melanie Kline viewed it as part of the death instinct, whereas psychoanalyst Donald Winnicott (1896-1971) viewed it as anxiety arising due to environmental constraints.

ANNIHILATION: “A person would fall victim to annihilation if he or she destroyed him or herself in some manner. “
