ANCUPLOIDY

n. A chromosomal abnormality in which an organism has either more or less than the number of chromosomes usually present in organisms of the same species. For example, in humans, more or less chromosomes than 46. As a result of the chromosomal abnormality, cognitive and neurological defects are usually present.
