ACIDOSIS

noun. A problem caused by the lack of the standard acidic base that retains equilibrium in the human body. This in turn creates a rise in the amount of acid in tissues and blood, or a decrease of alkaline deposits. The disorder concludes with brain abnormalities, like twitches, loss of direction and cognitive awareness, and coma. Disruption in heart patterns can also occur.

ACIDOSIS: “Albert was relieved when the doctor told him his heart palpitations were merely due to acidosis, and not something more severe.”
